Quality takes planning, good foundations and a vision for
the future. We have been breeders since 1977, but horse lovers all our lives.
Fantasy Stables is the culmination of our 56 years of working with horses, and
our motto “ The Dream Starts Here” refers to the fact that we produce horses
intended to fill our clients’ dreams.
We breed sport horses because that was the natural
progression from “using horses”. They have good minds, good bone, long gaits
and a desire to please. This type of horse can do anything that a rider desires
and be a pleasure to work with.
We started with
young mares from Bill and Neva Moore's Minidoka Stables. The Moores were on the
ground floor of the Appaloosa Horse Club and
set the standard for breeders. They were the breeder's breeder producing such
well know horses as Minidoka Sunday, Minidoka Kahlua, Minidoka Wendy, Double Bid, and Thumb Print.
Bill served on the ApHC board of Directors and was President several times.
Above all, the Moores wanted people to succeed in the horse world. They started many
people in the horse business, including us.
Roberta had the honor of working for Neva. The Moores
taught us a great deal about breeding and the Appaloosa horse. We learned that
you need to breed with a purpose and look to the future of your herd. The object
is to produce foals that are at least as good as the best parent and preferably better than both parents. There is not doubt that good mares are
as important as good stallions.
In 1984 we went looking for a herd sire. We purchased Judge
Moolah from Paul Fitzgerald. Paul was an Oklahoman whose family had been horse
breeders since before the Civil War. Paul knew horses and always said, “You
don’t get quality from under a cabbage leaf.” Judge has proved just how true
Paul's statement was. You can spot a Judge baby a mile away.
In 1992, we purchased Rebound with the express purpose of
crossing him on our Judge daughters. Rebound was the perfect complement for our breeding program.
He was an A circuit jumper in California with exceptional bloodlines.
In 1994 we were blessed with 2 stallion prospects,
something normally unheard of from a crop of 5 foals. We kept them both as
replacements for their sires who were getting up in years. Spirit is our
"pick up truck" because he is built like a sprint bred
Thoroughbred, or a middle of the road quarter horse. Roy is our "sports
car", because he has natural self carriage, lovely suspension and is well
balanced but looks like an old line Appaloosa.
With the lose of Rebound, we opted to expand by adding a
Thoroughbred stallion. Fs Millennium Falcon joined our breeding
program. He bring size, beauty, and exceptional Thoroughbred bloodlines to our breeding
program.
For our pleasure and your entertainment, if you wish, we have included pictures of our dogs. Below are links to visit our pet pages.
